Hi! This is me giving you a second text I wrote during my wirter circle group. Are you ready?
This time my prompt was: A genie grants you three wishes. What are they ?
The three wishes
I look at him, really surprised. What does he say to me? I’ve known him for years, he’s my best friend and now he tells me that if I make him three wishes, he will grant them? No, but what is his delusion!
— Come on! Tell me!
— But say what? What are you playing at?
He looks at me in a strange way, I can only give in.
— Okay, but you’re stupid, you know that?
I think for a few moments. This question is ultimately not at all easy. What wishes could I make? What do I really want? What are my dreams?
— Ok, then… My first wish will be to make poverty disappear in the world. No more unhappy people who can’t eat, who don’t have a home. Finished!
— Wow, you’re off to a strong start!
— I’m playing your stupid game, that’s all. The second one… damn, your thing is hard! You annoy me!
He smiles, like he does every time I get angry, as if I had this power of seduction over him.
— Well then, I want to finish my book, you’ve known this for a long time, my novel. But what I want is for it to be published. I want to write well enough that I can get published.
— It’s an easy wish to come true, all right. And the last?
I… I hesitate to tell him. How will he take it? How will he react? Does he have the same feelings as me? This is my chance. I have to start. After all, I have to make three wishes!
— I wish I could be with you. With all my heart I wish to be in your arms, kiss your lips, be by your side all my life.
He looks at me, surprised and sparkling. He comes closer to me and kisses me.
